Why We Exist
We exist because of inequality, because of oppression and marginalisation, and because too much needs doing in our communities that central government won't let us fix. A lot of the problems that exist are solveable, and pretty reasonably easily so, but there's no will to do it from above. We want to sharpen and focus that will from below instead - a genuine grassroots Welsh movement for a Wales that works for all of us, instead of a Wales we all work for and never attain.
We want to answer a very famous question posed by well known historian Gwyn A. Williams who asked in the title of his book "When Was Wales?"
Now is Wales.
That means an independent Wales. That means an insurgent government in the Senedd willing to demand independence - and it means preparing for independence at every step of the journey. We build the foundation.
But we know we won't do it alone, and we're delighted to work with others where our goals align.
Where We're From
We began in Ely in Cardiff, here in the capital of Wales. We are not a party born of the middle class. We are a volunteer party, at least for now, and everything we achieve, we do for ourselves. We do not need to ask permission.
What We Believe
We believe in an independent Wales. We believe keeping each other safe matters. We believe in nothing about you without you. We believe in from each according to ability, to each according to need. We believe in equity. We believe in not harming one another in the pursuit of profit. We believe in freedom of expression for all, not freedom of oppression for the ruling class.
We seek the liberation of all who do not seek to oppress through the consensus of all who do not seek to oppress.
We are a radical party, and we believe in reduction of suffering as a guiding principle.
And when we need, we build.
