Part 1 - Establishment And Purpose of the Party

Part 1 - Establishment and Purpose of the Party

This document establishes Cytgord Cymru (also known as Harmony of Wales) as a political party.

We acknowledge our roots and enshrine here for posterity that this Party began not with aspirations of high office, but with a yearning for mutual aid in Fairwater and Ely, in Cardiff.

We and Harmony Party UK share much of this constitution for now, but anticipate divergence over time. As we celebrate diversity, so we look forward to our future difference.

One of the purposes of this party is, through democratic action, the attainment of a democratic, independent, and autonomous Wales.

  • We reject a referendum as a necessity.
  • Instead, we commit to proposing Welsh independence as a core policy at every future election until the Welsh public consents through vote to the independence of Wales.
    • Should this occur, we will demand independence from Westminster.
      • Should Westminster refuse, we will take action to secure independence.
      • Wales will not ask permission.

As a political party, we will seek election of persons with Party Membership to both local and national government in Wales.

This document establishes the primacy of Party Consensus in the governance of the Party in the framework laid out in this document, while asserting that Party Consensus may only be sought in the precise manner laid out in these articles, and,

it establishes an end to socioeconomic inequality, or "class society" as a constitutionally obligated policy of the Party without binding Party Consensus in any fashion as to the method of implementation of that goal beyond that established in the Ethical Kernel of this constitution (Part 2).
