Why Does The Rec Need Saving?

Plans are afoot to build a road from the empty plot on Snowden Road right through the football pitch on the Ely Rec - sometimes known as the Archer Road Recreational Grounds.

The Rec is an utterly crucial community asset and lots of conversations have been taking place around Ely since rumours of the plans first emerged a few weeks ago. Some residents met on Thursday the 15th of May & decided to form the Ely Assembly in response - with a view to saving the rec.

Cytgord Cymru is proud to support this endeavor and is glad to see other political parties in Cardiff already taking a stance. We hope that the plurality of voices raised against these plans will make utterly plain to the council just how vital the Rec is - although if other action is needed, we will support that as well.
